SG *FASHION FIX* – PHOTOS: Partying like it's 1929 at 2nd Annual Great Gatsby!

Dressed to party like it’s 1929 at The 2nd Annual Great Gatsby Gala

Although last Friday September 20th marked the 2nd Annual Gatsby Gala at The City Club (presented by Ben Swaim of, there were certainly quite a few firsts. I made my debut as a platinum blonde with a 1920’s inspired bob wig from Coco Coquette in Austin. We had Charleston guests in the house (holla!). Our wide-eyed innocent young Daisy (photographer Lisa Brown’s beautiful daughter Isabele) saw her first burlesque show in the City Club’s Speakeasy. My dad put on a tuxedo for what most likely was the first time ever and looked quite handsome, I might add. And, we might have had the best dressed crowd in Wilmington’s history. Seriously y’all, I was so impressed. Our best dressed winner Melissa Cartun purchased her dress from the same designer providing dresses for the forthcoming Great Gatsby film. Shannon Dunne tracked down the same beloved headpiece she wore a decade ago at a rental shop in San Francisco. Elli Klein tranformed her “beach cover-up” into the perfect LBD with her rhinestone belt worn as a necklace draped dramatically down her back. Get the picture?

See for yourself from the beautiful photos below captured by the talented Lisa Brown of Bella Rose Photography.

Most people are not something one thinks about.”
