Therain did little to dampen the red carpet revelry at The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Instead, it provided the guys in tux with their must-have accessory: the umbrella. We had to tune in to see which Grey Gardens star would take home the gold - Little Edie (Drew Barrymore) or Big Edie (Jessica Lange) - Drew; what Director James Cameron might say this time when he gets onstage and if there would be any “wardrobe malfunctions” (like an escort stepping on Chloe Sevigny’s dress). And most importantly, what will they wear? Not only did we get to see who wore what and who came (and left) with who, but a preview on some style stand-outs for Spring. ![]() Pastels: Drew Barrymore heralded in the neutral-hued trend wearing Atelier Versace one shoulder champagne silk chiffon gown while Mad Men’s Christina Hendrick turned heads in her golden canary cascading ruffle dress by Project Runway winner Christian Siriano. Christina Aguilera upstaged Cher with her Versace strapless peach chiffon gown with a metallic bodice and peach colored leather inserts - set off by her Sonny complexion.
Anna Paquin, nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in True Blood, chose a dazzling sequined Stella McCartney dress with a daring neckline - perfect for “necking” with fiance and co-star Stephen Moyer.
One of my all-time favorites of the night was a ruffled, powdered violet Valentino worn by Chloe Sevigny, winner for best performance by an actress in a Supporting Role in Big Love.
One-Shoulder: Maggie Gyllenhaal, presenter and star of Crazy Heart, chose an origami-style RM by Roland Mouret pale coral textured organza gown while French actress Marion Cotillard chose a deep teal one-shoulder, silk Dior gown with peek-a-boo lingerie lace detailing (another trend for Spring). And now, for the not-so-much…
![]() Mariah Carey? A bit too overexposed. Great dress, but not on her. Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts bet on black. Aniston’s sexy slit held the attention of her date Gerard Butler but her roll-in-the-beach hair and expected pick is a bit bo-ring while Julie Roberts’ nothing-special wrap dress and messy hair looks more girl next door than Pretty Woman. Tea Leoni took the casual chic look a step too far wearing her husband’s day shirt with a strand of pearls.

No one can deny Sophia Loren looks AMAZING for her age (75!) but she had a bit of an accessory overload with her embellished gown, choker necklace, diamond earrings and tinted glasses.
