*FASHION FIX* Because You Look Like You Give a Damn: 3 Essentials for 007 Style

Daniel Craig as James Bond in the latest 007 film, Skyfall

For 50 years, men have wanted to be him and women have wanted to be with him. Who is this master of seduction?
Bond, James Bond. (you know I had to do that. It’s a requirement for writing any Bond-themed piece.)
With the release of the franchise’s 23rd 007 film “Skyfall” hitting released last week, it’s time to take another look at what makes 007 so alluring. Besides his coolness under pressure, fancy toys, bravado and of course the Bond bombshells, it’s Bond’s enduring style that continues to make us swoon.
Since most guys we know are not lucky enough to have a closet full of Tom Ford suits, I asked Michael Vinson, owner of Bloke (celebrating their 2 year anniversary this week), to share some of his suggested style tips for channeling your inner Bond.

“What sets the style of James Bond apart from from the rest of us?

The key to aspiring to “Bond Style” is paying attention to every. single. detail.”
– Michael Vinson, owner of Bloke.

Whether it is a custom suit, or a handmade knit bow tie, James Bond seems to always keep a keen eye for quality. When looking for the next addition to their wardrobe, guys should make sure to pay close attention to the details. Some companies are starting to take a certain craftsman approach to their clothing and the detailed work that goes into it. Take notice of the small things because they’re what will set you apart from the crowd.
2. FIT

One of the most important details is how the clothes fit. While shopping, guys should look for the items that seem as if it
were made for them. Don’t be afraid to try on the clothes, because that’s the only way to ensure a great, custom looking fit. You’ll look that much more closer to Bond with a trim and tailored look.

When you say the name James Bond many people, including myself, envision the latest Bond in a classic Tom Ford tuxedo, but that is not exactly practical attire for most guys. However, in several of the films over the years Bond trades in his tux for a more relaxed, yet sophisticated “countryside” style. This look is much more relatable and attainable for guys. The items pictured above are several casual offerings from Bloke that give a nod to Bond style. Shaken not Stirred.
