It’s about that time for a little Spring Fashion Preview action. Heading into its 8th year, this bi-annual event presented by Wilmington Dermatology Center and hosted by yours truly, is a tad later this season since I decided to combine it with the MAD MEN party, an event I’ve been hosting each year since season one in Wilmington and one season in Charleston. To watch a video from the “We Miss MAD MEN” event produced by Blueberry Creative in 2011, Click HERE.

Since the final segment to Season 7 just launched April 5th, I decided our Spring Preview event would still highlight the top trends for Spring 2015 on the runway but with a nod to the late 60’s, the current setting for MAD MEN’s last hurrah. I’m also hoping guests will get into the spirit by dressing like their favorite MAD MEN character (pick a season!) To get your ticket for Wednesday April 22nd’s event at Bakery 105, CLICK HERE.

For a little inspiration on what to wear, we hosted a MAD MEN inspired shoot a few weeks ago at Bakery 105 with Photographer Ben Minor.

Enjoy! And remember, “Make It Simple, but Significant.”
– Don Draper

Getting back to my San Fran trip for a minute, I thought it was only fitting to show you where I watched the MAD MEN season premiere on Easter night. My jaw practically hit the ground when I walked through the gate of this gorgeous midcentury home. Pinch me, please! Doesn’t this look just like the home Don Draper would have bought if he ever committed to moving to LA? It’s located in the hills above Oakland and owned by Shaun, who works for Airbnb along with his beautiful wife Kate, who recently relocated from NYC. This gathering was part of my “experience” since the folks at Airbnb know how much I love a good MAD MEN party. They invited around a dozen guests with the majority from their corporate office but with a few random Airbnb guests who happened to be staying in San Fran and one other woman who was also in San Fran for her magical trip.

Shaun and Kate set up their “Make Your Own Manhattan” bar and served finger foods we could grab at while all eyes stayed glued to the screen. The commentary went something like this: “Is anyone going to mention Roger’s ‘stache? Isn’t the waitress the matriarch from the Cullen family? Is this looking sort of like a porn? And, where’s Betty??”

Hell’s bells! That sure was a good time.
We may not have Don Draper’s home here, but I know we’ll have some fun at Bakery 105 Wednesday night.
Hope to see you there! xo
